Welcome to this first newsletter on Elsam's Virtual Power Plant (VPP) auctions. The purpose of the newsletter is to inform potential bidders and other interested parties about the VPP auctions. Our website, www.elsamvpp.com will be updated continuously with news on VPP.
News
Who is eligible to bid for VPP Capacity?
The decision regarding qualification to bid is based solely on a number of criteria. Eligible bidders include, among others, electricity distribution companies in Europe, trading companies, and generators.
Information Session
Elsam will host an information session to inform interested parties on the VPP auctions and product specifications. The date has been set for 19. May 2005; please mark your calendar. More information will follow in the next newsletter.
Elsam's partners on the VPP auction project
Elsam co-operates with a number of partners in order to implement the VPP auctions and to sell the VPP capacity.
Deloitte: Deloitte has been appointed as Trustee by the Danish Competition Authority and by Elsam. Deloitte is responsible for the implementation of the VPP Auctions in accordance with Elsam's commitments to the Danish Competition Authority.
Jonas Bruun: Jonas Bruun is a Danish Law firm, and their role is to audit all legal documents relating to the auctions.
Nord Pool: Nord Pool will be hosting the VPP auctions. With their experience in the Nordic Power Market and daily performance of spot market auctions, they will ensure a fair, non-discriminatory and transparent auction of VPP Capacity.
The Danish Competition Authority: The Danish Competition Authority is to approve all aspects of the VPP auctions.
