DONG Energy Generation has just completed the first of four auctions taking place in 2007. In the auction, 225 MW virtual Power Plant capacity was offered for supply in the second quarter of 2007. The auction was a success and 7companies purchased capacity.

Auction results
In the auction, an option price of 11.26 EUR/MWh (equivalent to a Total Option Price of 24,600 EUR/MW) was determined for the right to use the capacity in the second quarter of 2007. Owners of Virtual Power Plant Capacity pay an additional set price of 17.62 EUR/MWh when electricity is supplied.

Next auction
The next auction is scheduled for 29 May 2007. This auction will involve 225 MW delivered in the third quarter of 2007.

In cooperation with the Danish Competition Authority, DONG Energy Generation has appointed Deloitte as Trustee to ensure the smooth operation of the auction. The auction itself takes place on the Internet through the Nordic Power Exchange, Nord Pool, in Oslo. The details of the bidders are kept confidential thus information is not made available or disclosed to the individual bidders or DONG Energy Generation.
