DONG Energy Generation has just completed the third of four auctions taking place in 2007. On 30 August two products were successfully sold:

3-months' product
225 MW delivered in the fourth quarter of 2007 was purchased by 6 companies. In the auction, an option price of 16.43 EUR/MWh (equivalent to a Total Option Price of 36,300 EUR/MW) was determined for the right to use the capacity in fourth quarter 2007. 

Owners of 3-months' Virtual Power Plant Capacity pay an additional set price of 20.97 EUR/MWh when electricity is supplied.

36-months' product
100 MW delivered in the period 2008-2010 was purchased by 4 companies. In the auction, an option price of 19.50 EUR/MWh (equivalent to a Total Option Price of 513,036 EUR/MW) was determined for the right to use the capacity in the period 2008-2010.

Owners of 36-months' Virtual Power Plant Capacity pay an additional set price of 29.73 EUR/MWh when electricity is supplied.

Next auction
The next auction is scheduled for 27 November 2007 where 400 MW is offered for supply. The 400 MW will be supplied in two products defined by their duration of 3 months (200 MW) and 12 months (200 MW). In cooperation with the Danish Competition Authority, DONG Energy Generation has appointed Deloitte as Trustee to ensure the smooth operation of the auction. The auction itself takes place on the internet through the Nordic Power Exchange, Nord Pool, in Oslo. The details of the bidders are kept confidential thus information is not made available or disclosed to the individual bidders or DONG Energy Generation.
